Our practice is certified to use the Prepare/Enrich program with couples. Prepare and Enrich includes a computer assessment and a workbook. Couples who use Prepare and Enrich tend to improve their relationship and decrease their chances of divorce by 30%. Research indicates that quality of the premarital program affects its effectiveness. Other premarital assessments may be cheaper but I believe it is important to have the best results possible with something as important as a lifelong commitment.

Our premarital counseling consists of 5 sessions of 90 minutes. We we will work thru the Prepare/Enrich Workbook. Here are the topics we will address: Family of origin, Closeness, Flexibility, Personality, Stress, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Financial Management, Leisure Activities, Sex and Affection, Relationship Roles, Spirituality, Expectations, and Marital Goals.
Also, at the end of the premarital counseling you will receive a certificate of completion. This allows some couples to get a discount in their marriage license (check your state regulations for this).
